Setting Up Auto Top-Up

Get auto top-up running in just a few minutes.

Before You Start​

Make sure you have:

  • An active wallet with at least one previous top-up
  • A valid payment card (Visa or Mastercard)
  • Access to the Member Portal

Step-by-Step Setup​

Step 1: Open Auto Top-Up Settings​

  1. Log in to the Member Portal
  2. Go to My Wallet
  3. Click Auto Top-Up or Settings
  4. Select Set Up Auto Top-Up

Step 2: Choose Your Method​

Option A: Threshold-Based​

Best for most members - tops up when your balance is low.

  1. Select When balance is low
  2. Set your Threshold (e.g., R100)
    • When your balance drops below this, auto top-up triggers
  3. Set your Top-Up Amount (e.g., R300)
    • This is how much will be added each time
  4. Click Continue

Tip: Set your threshold higher than your typical single purchase to avoid declined payments.

Option B: Scheduled​

Best for fixed budgeting - tops up on a regular schedule.

  1. Select On a schedule
  2. Choose your Frequency (weekly, fortnightly, monthly)
  3. Select the Day (e.g., 1st of the month)
  4. Set your Amount (e.g., R500)
  5. Click Continue

Step 3: Add or Select Payment Card​

If you have a saved card:

  1. Select your card from the list
  2. Confirm it's the one you want to use

If adding a new card:

  1. Click Add New Card
  2. Enter your card details
  3. Complete the verification (small test charge may apply)
  4. Card is saved for auto top-up

Step 4: Review and Confirm​

  1. Review your auto top-up settings
  2. Read the terms and conditions
  3. Check the box to agree
  4. Click Enable Auto Top-Up

Step 5: Confirmation​

You'll see:

  • Confirmation message on screen
  • Email confirming auto top-up is active
  • Your settings summary

These are suggestions - choose amounts that work for your spending habits.

What Happens Next​

Once enabled:

  • Your balance is monitored automatically
  • When threshold is reached, your card is charged
  • Funds appear in your wallet within minutes
  • You receive a notification confirming the top-up

Testing Your Setup​

Want to make sure it works?

  1. Check that your payment card is valid
  2. Your first auto top-up will occur when threshold is reached
  3. You'll receive email confirmation when it runs
