Google Wallet

Add your member card to Google Wallet on your Android phone for quick access at the club.

Requirements

  • Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or later
  • Google Wallet app installed (download from Play Store if needed)
  • Signed into a Google account
  • Active club membership with wallet

Adding Your Card

From the Member Portal

  1. Open Chrome on your Android phone
  2. Log in to the Member Portal
  3. Go to My Wallet
  4. Tap Digital Card or Add to Google Wallet
  5. Review the card details
  6. Tap Save or Add to Google Wallet
  7. Your card appears in the Google Wallet app

From an Email

If you received an email with your digital card:

  1. Open the email on your Android phone
  2. Tap the Add to Google Wallet button
  3. Review the card details
  4. Tap Save

Using Your Card

From Google Wallet App

  1. Open the Google Wallet app
  2. Find your member card in the Passes section
  3. Tap to open it
  4. Show the barcode to staff at the register

Quick Access Shortcuts

Set up faster access:

  1. Open Google Wallet
  2. Long-press your member card
  3. Select Add to Home screen
  4. Tap the shortcut to open your card directly

From Lock Screen (if enabled)

Some phones allow wallet access from the lock screen:

  1. Swipe down on lock screen
  2. Tap the wallet shortcut
  3. Authenticate if required
  4. Show your card

What's on Your Card

Your digital card displays:

  • Your name - Member name as registered
  • Member number - Your unique membership ID
  • Club logo - Your club's branding
  • Barcode - Scanned by staff for payments
  • Balance - Your current wallet balance (updates periodically)

Notifications from Your Card

Control notifications from your card:

  1. Open Google Wallet
  2. Tap your member card
  3. Tap the menu (three dots)
  4. Select Notifications
  5. Toggle notifications on or off

Keeping Your Card Updated

Your card automatically updates when:

  • Your membership renews
  • Your balance changes (periodic sync)
  • Club updates the card design

Manual Update

If information seems outdated:

  1. Open Google Wallet
  2. Find your member card
  3. Pull down to refresh
  4. Or: Remove and re-add the card from Member Portal

Troubleshooting

"Add to Google Wallet" Not Appearing

  • Make sure Google Wallet app is installed
  • Verify you're signed into a Google account
  • Try using Chrome browser
  • Clear browser cache and try again

Card Not Showing in Google Wallet

  1. Open Google Wallet
  2. Check the Passes section
  3. Pull down to refresh
  4. If missing, re-add from Member Portal

Barcode Not Scanning

  1. Increase screen brightness to maximum
  2. Clean your screen
  3. Disable any blue light filters temporarily
  4. Try holding phone closer or further from scanner
  5. Ask staff to manually enter your member number

Balance Shows Wrong Amount

The balance on your card syncs periodically:

  1. Pull down on the card to refresh
  2. Check Member Portal for accurate current balance
  3. Remove and re-add card if significantly outdated

Google Wallet Crashes

  1. Update Google Wallet from Play Store
  2. Clear app cache (Settings → Apps → Google Wallet → Clear Cache)
  3. Restart your phone
  4. Reinstall Google Wallet if needed

Multiple Google Accounts

If you have multiple Google accounts:

  1. Your card is saved to your primary account
  2. Switch accounts in Google Wallet to find your card
  3. Or add the card while signed into your preferred account

Removing Your Card

  1. Open the Google Wallet app
  2. Find your member card
  3. Tap the menu (three dots)
  4. Select Remove
  5. Confirm removal

Your wallet account remains active - you can re-add the card anytime.

Wear OS (Smartwatch)

If you have a Wear OS smartwatch:

  1. Cards added to Google Wallet sync automatically
  2. Open Google Wallet on your watch
  3. Find your member card
  4. Show the barcode at the register

Note: Sync may take a few minutes after adding the card to your phone.
