Google Wallet
Add your member card to Google Wallet on your Android phone for quick access at the club.
Requirements
- Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or later
- Google Wallet app installed (download from Play Store if needed)
- Signed into a Google account
- Active club membership with wallet
Adding Your Card
From the Member Portal
- Open Chrome on your Android phone
- Log in to the Member Portal
- Go to My Wallet
- Tap Digital Card or Add to Google Wallet
- Review the card details
- Tap Save or Add to Google Wallet
- Your card appears in the Google Wallet app
From an Email
If you received an email with your digital card:
- Open the email on your Android phone
- Tap the Add to Google Wallet button
- Review the card details
- Tap Save
Using Your Card
From Google Wallet App
- Open the Google Wallet app
- Find your member card in the Passes section
- Tap to open it
- Show the barcode to staff at the register
Quick Access Shortcuts
Set up faster access:
- Open Google Wallet
- Long-press your member card
- Select Add to Home screen
- Tap the shortcut to open your card directly
From Lock Screen (if enabled)
Some phones allow wallet access from the lock screen:
- Swipe down on lock screen
- Tap the wallet shortcut
- Authenticate if required
- Show your card
What's on Your Card
Your digital card displays:
- Your name - Member name as registered
- Member number - Your unique membership ID
- Club logo - Your club's branding
- Barcode - Scanned by staff for payments
- Balance - Your current wallet balance (updates periodically)
Notifications from Your Card
Control notifications from your card:
- Open Google Wallet
- Tap your member card
- Tap the ⋮ menu (three dots)
- Select Notifications
- Toggle notifications on or off
Keeping Your Card Updated
Your card automatically updates when:
- Your membership renews
- Your balance changes (periodic sync)
- Club updates the card design
Manual Update
If information seems outdated:
- Open Google Wallet
- Find your member card
- Pull down to refresh
- Or: Remove and re-add the card from Member Portal
Troubleshooting
"Add to Google Wallet" Not Appearing
- Make sure Google Wallet app is installed
- Verify you're signed into a Google account
- Try using Chrome browser
- Clear browser cache and try again
Card Not Showing in Google Wallet
- Open Google Wallet
- Check the Passes section
- Pull down to refresh
- If missing, re-add from Member Portal
Barcode Not Scanning
- Increase screen brightness to maximum
- Clean your screen
- Disable any blue light filters temporarily
- Try holding phone closer or further from scanner
- Ask staff to manually enter your member number
Balance Shows Wrong Amount
The balance on your card syncs periodically:
- Pull down on the card to refresh
- Check Member Portal for accurate current balance
- Remove and re-add card if significantly outdated
Google Wallet Crashes
- Update Google Wallet from Play Store
- Clear app cache (Settings → Apps → Google Wallet → Clear Cache)
- Restart your phone
- Reinstall Google Wallet if needed
Multiple Google Accounts
If you have multiple Google accounts:
- Your card is saved to your primary account
- Switch accounts in Google Wallet to find your card
- Or add the card while signed into your preferred account
Removing Your Card
- Open the Google Wallet app
- Find your member card
- Tap the ⋮ menu (three dots)
- Select Remove
- Confirm removal
Your wallet account remains active - you can re-add the card anytime.
Wear OS (Smartwatch)
If you have a Wear OS smartwatch:
- Cards added to Google Wallet sync automatically
- Open Google Wallet on your watch
- Find your member card
- Show the barcode at the register
Note: Sync may take a few minutes after adding the card to your phone.
