Managing Your Notification Preferences

Control exactly how and when you receive wallet notifications.

Accessing Notification Settings

  1. Log in to the Member Portal
  2. Go to My Wallet
  3. Click Settings or Notification Preferences

Understanding the Settings

Notification Types

You can enable or disable each type of notification:

Low Balance AlertsWhen your balance drops below threshold
Purchase NotificationsEach time you make a payment
Credit NotificationsWhen money is added (top-ups, refunds)
Auto Top-Up AlertsWhen automatic top-up runs or fails

Communication Channels

For each notification type, choose which channels to use:

  • Email - Detailed notifications to your inbox
  • WhatsApp - Quick alerts via WhatsApp
  • SMS - Text messages to your phone
  • Push - App notifications (if using mobile app)

Changing Your Preferences

Enable or Disable a Notification Type

  1. Find the notification type (e.g., "Purchase Notifications")
  2. Toggle the switch On or Off
  3. Changes save automatically

Choose Channels for Each Type

  1. Click on a notification type to expand options
  2. Check or uncheck each channel:
    • ☑️ Email
    • ☑️ WhatsApp
    • ☐ SMS
    • ☐ Push
  3. Changes save automatically

Updating Contact Information

Notifications go to your registered contact details:

Email Address

  1. Go to ProfileContact Details
  2. Update your email address
  3. Verify the new address via confirmation email

Mobile Number

  1. Go to ProfileContact Details
  2. Update your mobile number
  3. Verify via SMS code if required

WhatsApp

WhatsApp notifications use your registered mobile number. Ensure:

  • WhatsApp is installed on that number
  • You've opted in to receive WhatsApp messages

Troubleshooting

Not Receiving Notifications

  1. Check your notification preferences are enabled
  2. Verify your contact details are correct
  3. Check spam/junk folders for emails
  4. Ensure you haven't blocked the sender

Receiving Too Many Notifications

  1. Disable purchase notifications if you make frequent small purchases
  2. Use only one channel per notification type
  3. Turn off notifications you don't need

WhatsApp Not Working

  1. Ensure WhatsApp is installed
  2. Verify your mobile number is correct
  3. Check WhatsApp settings allow messages from businesses
  4. Try disabling and re-enabling WhatsApp notifications

Privacy and Unsubscribing

Your Data

  • Notification preferences are stored securely
  • Only used for wallet notifications
  • Not shared with third parties

Stopping All Notifications

  1. Go to Notification Preferences
  2. Toggle off each notification type
  3. Or contact support to opt out completely

Note: Some critical notifications (like security alerts) may still be sent.
